Kuppo the Kobold

Status: Alive

For the first part of their life, Kuppo was just another member of a kobold clan that served an adult green dragon named Zaedruuk. One day a series of events caused Zaedruuk to become severely enraged to the point that they started snapping up their little servitors and eating them. Kuppo stared in awe around him and this wonderous opportunity to ‘wholly’ serve their grand master. Standing tall with his arms stretched up high, Kuppo waited for his turn to embrace the jaws of his fate, but they never came. Opening his eyes after a few moments, Kuppo looked around and saw that Zaedruuk had finished his rampage and gone off further into their lair. Quickly following, Kuppo urged his dragon overlord to eat him as well. Zaedruuk was not in the mood to deal with the shenanigans of the little kobold and quickly told him to see what use the clan needed him for. Feeling deprived of his destiny, Kuppo continued to ask to be eaten until Zaedruuk got annoyed and ‘lovingly’ swatting him across the cave.

Feeling rejected by the creature he had served for his entire life, Kuppo grew increasingly up-set over the next couple days and in time swore a personal oath to get revenge for such a great insult. Knowing that he could stand no chance at defeating Zaedruuk single handedly, he threw off all ties to his clan, risked stealing a singular gold piece from the dragon’s hoard, and set off into the outside world.

The next couple days saw Kuppo struggle to make his way through thick forests and swampy bogs all the while growing more furious at the green dragon for initiating such a dramatic turn in his life. Eventually Kuppo arrived in a small port town in one of the forests he was passing through. He had only one thing on his mind. Using his limited knowledge of the other humanoid races he marched right in to the local tavern, jumped up on the bar, slammed down his singular gold coin and demanded ‘The strongest slop you creatures have’. Every patron in the building stopped what they were doing to watch the strange spectacle. Kuppo himself was surprised when he was actually served; the barkeep delivering him a tall flagon of dark red beverage. He proceeded to down the entire drink in one go before promptly passing out.

He woke up some time the next day chained to a pole in the center of the town. People carried on around him with their daily tasks giving him an odd stare every once in a while. Some time that afternoon a large Orc male came over to him and introduced himself as Hauk, the local smith. He talked with Kuppo for a while, getting to know him and why he suddenly showed up in their town. Kuppo didn’t go into great detail but did explain that he was alone and had no real plans for his immediate future. At hearing this, Hauk smiled and informed Kuppo that he had been authorized to take care of him as a sort of guardian/mentor if he so wished to stay in the village, which went by the name of Lamperós Ílios, located on the southern coast of Telma.

Kuppo wasn’t very fond of the idea of trading one master for another so quickly but figured that if he refused he would likely just be kept chained to his current pole. Thus, he accepted Hauk’s offer. Over the next couple months, Kuppo actually came to be fond of his new friend and mentor while taking up a position as Hauk’s apprentice. He learned metalworking techniques and with his own natural talent for discerning metals and their properties, quickly became rather proficient in his duties. He was prone to getting in trouble around town and more than a few times Hauk had to speak up on his behalf. A little more than a year after first arriving in Lamperós Ílios, Kuppo decided he still had a personal grudge to settle and made plans to set out in to the world again. As a farewell, and rudimentary payment for his help over the past year, Shaddok made a custom chainmail shirt and pair of gauntlets for his little friend and provided some basic adventuring supplies. Setting off again into the wild, Kuppo looks forward to facing his destiny.

Deciding he needed to get stronger Kuppo resolved to travel and seek out new challenges. He would eventually spot Alexandos, the captain of the caravel class ship known as The Gilded Coffer. While attempting to stowaway on the ship Kuppo was discovered and Alexandos elected to hire Kuppo to his short staffed crew. Alexandos had a plan to sail through the The Raven Order naval blockade to Kumdan Tepe and then a port town on the western coast of The Merchant Republic. Unfortunately Alexandos' plan was far from perfect and his ship and crew would be detained after Raven Order troops found a sleeping orc girl in a sealed crate. Now Alexandos and the rest of The Gilded Coffer crew are stuck at Camp Omega, a military camp on the border of the Turu Jungle, where they await their fate.
