Kori

History

Kori used to consist of a number of small clans who would constantly squabble over land. In 437RH two notable figures would arise to unify their lands. On the western side of the island a man who would grant himself title of Shogun. Shogun Tsueno would use the force of his fearsome samurai troops to crush anybody who resisted his rule. Eventually his men would come to call him Tsukuyomi (Lit. Moon God) due to his infamous use of night raids. On the eastern side of the island a woman named Izumi Ryo would unite her tribes through her charisma alone. A natural born leader Izumi Ryo would be given the title of emperor and eventually go by Amaterasu (Lit. Sun God) due to what many people called her natural radiance. From 437RH to 452RH every clan would find themselves under the leadership of either the Shogun or the Empress. All signs had led people to believe that The Tsukuyomi Clan and the Amaterasu clan would clash at the border for full control of the island. But in a strange twist Izumi and Tsueno would meet for the first and fall in love with each other. They would get married and unite the country under one banner. The Nisshoku Government would be formed with the Empress handling social services and diplomatic affairs while the Shogun would spend his time maintaining the military and handling the countries budget. Eventually they would birth children who would fill their roles. In modern time Kori is still ruled by a Empress and a Shogun who are both descendants of Izumi and Tsueno.

Politics

Currently the country is ruled by Shogun Muto Tatsuo and Empress Sawa Ko. Currently the two are fighting over the issue of military intervention in Ilyran Thalas, Shogun Tatsuo believes that if The Raven Order is not stopped they will continue to invade even more lands. Empress Ko believes that to break Kori's long standing tradition of not involving themselves in world affairs they will open the door for disaster.

Kori is mostly independent, most foreign merchants who travel to Kori find themselves largely ignored by the locals.
